Sexuality: Bi-sexual with a tendancy to pretend he's Asexual. I only say this because he's a high ranking monk and while he breaks many other rules that are forbidden by his religion, abstiance seems to be the one rule he follows. This could be for many reasons, but who's to say if the right person came along he wouldn't break even that one.

Appearance: Violet eyes, deep with sorrow and sharp with a bitter outlook on life. Golden hair that is comparable to the softness and warmth given by the sun is quite a contrast to his cold nature. Pale skin that seems so pure and perfect that one would say he was like a fine ivory etching. The intimidation of his masculine beauty howerver, is not portrayed in his fragile,yet powerful, frame. Fairly short by male standards and thin as well, Genjyo Sanzo is the perfect representaion of the what a pure holy power should be but also what a weak human should be.

Personality: Despite his position, Sanzo is not a people person. He's moody,cold,withdrawn,stubborn, prone to violent outbursts,arrogant,cynical,at times very apathetic, and distrusting. These are just a few of his negative personality traits as far as positives go he can be very calm, has great judgment, and very charismatic. When nobody is looking Sanzo can even been known to be compassionate and considerate. Sanzo has many internal fears that he cannot deal with that are displayed on the surface, such as he fears being close to anybody out of fear of losing them. He takes a lot of his own pain out on others and has enough self-loathing to full two oceans (three if it's a rainy day..) Sanzo is the type of guy who would rather have nothing and be disliked than risk his own emotional well-being.

Abilities/Weaponry: Sanzo prefers to be a long range fighter due to his weak frame. His long range weapons include a holy gun and a set of holy sutra that he uses in order to dispel darkness. Though long range fighting is his preferance, he is also very skilled at hand-to-hand combat. Sanzo is very fast and has incredible reflexes but hates to move around a lot, especially in battle. He also has a paper fan that he occasionally uses to 'disipline' his comrades.

Weaknesses: Battlewise, the monk has a reputation for not being the most accurate shot and is extremly prone to being posioned. Personality wise, he is very unaccepting o the help of others most of the time. Sometimes when he can't handle situations he either shuts down or goes crazy (it's a coin toss sometimes). When it rains he becomes extremly depressed and is moreso prone to being violent with others, this is due to all the bad memories the rain dredges up for him.

History: Genjyo Sanzo was not his original name but the name given to him upon becoming a Sanzo priest. He was once a boy named Kouryuu who was abandoned and left for dead in a river. Kouryuu was found by a man who held the title "Koumyou Sanzo". Koumyou gave Kouryuu his name and took him back to the temple where he was raised. Kouryuu was picked on by not only the town's children but by the other monks at the temple who were envious of his abilities. He earned names such as "Driftwood" and "Kouryuu the River Rat". One night a group of demons came to the temple in search of the holy sutra the Sanzo priest was to keep. In the attack Koumyou was killed protecting Kouryuu but not before Kouryuu had been given the title and new name of "Genjyo Sanzo". The death of his master left a huge wound in Sanzo, leaving him with no hope and nobody. Sanzo left the temple that day in search of his master's sutra that was stolen that night, armed only with a gun and his wits. He eventually returned to the temple to resume his dull duties of sermons,paperwork, and various missions given to him by the Senbutsushin. Among many of his missions he rescused a boy from imprisonment and brought him to stay at the temple with him, befriended a genocidal fugitive, and has gone nose to nose with a halfbreed that he saw a lot of himself in. After the fated meeting, there never seemed to be a dull moment in his life. To this day he's still kicking himself for it.
